Passionate about a thousand things
Pet Holman studied Visual Communication at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam before living and working in multiple countries, where she immersed herself in different cultural norms and community stories.
Pet’s films weave themes of youth empowerment, women’s voices, sustainability, and climate justice, anchored in her exploration of Dutch-Indonesian, Moluccan, and Papuan diasporic identity. She brings a personal, poetic visual style to deep-rooted questions of identity, heritage, and belonging.
Pet feels a profound responsibility for the future. She strives, through film, to build bridging narratives that foster empathy, cultural understanding, and positive social change, a practice aligned with the idea that art frames “a roadmap for a better world” and that to her as an artist’s job, is to tell something true and transformative.
